Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Anita Willets-Burnham (illustrator). 2nd Edition. This offering is a vintage copy of an older book on traveling adventures. Round the World on a Penny was written by Anita Willets-Burnham and illustrated with some illustrations of hers as well . . . but does include illustrations by others. Ms. Willets-Burnham HAS also signed/inscribed the book on the half-title page. At the bottom of the frontispiece she has written in pencil "Hand painted by Anita." The book was published by Covici Friede Publishers in 1936 and appears to be the First Printing of a Second Edition. It is stated as a Revised Edition , , , apparently a First Edition was published in 1933. It's NOT an ex-library copy - the book is in very good + condition while the dust jacket is in good + condition. There ARE three laid in items that will be included with your purchase . . . a Third Class Cabin Baggage "ticket" - a pseudo-post card which says Best-Wishes the-Burnhams and a copy of "The Burnham Bugle (If you don't blow your own horn - who will!) The book is 5 7/8" by 8 3/4" with about 271 pages and many illustrations indicating many of the places they visited. It's an absolutely great look back , , , and might be a family treasure for anyone related to Anita Willets-Burnham. "Mrs. Burnham tells here the story of their gypsy-like wanderings in a hilarious book richly illustrated with the amusing drawings of the entire Burnham tribe." Thank you!.
