Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good-. 318 pp, 9 1/2" H. "In nearly 200 biographical entries, thirty-seven contributors discuss most of the novelists, poets, playwrights, historians, and other writers who have published significantly from the beginning of 1967 to the end of 1972. Books and periodicals (in both English and French) are described in bibliographical articles under Anthologies, Belles Lettres, Children's Books, Drama, Eskimos, Fiction, Folklore, History Studies, Indians, Indian Legends and Art, Literary Magazines, Literary Studies, Poetry, Political Writings, and Translations. While the author entries provide an essential source of information about the leading writers, the bibliographical articles are an organized round-up of publications that will prove illuminating and invaluable to those readers who have only an uncertain knowledge of just what books have become available since 1967. Of all the discoveries that can be made in this 'Supplement', perhaps the most striking and important for the English-speaking reader are the extent and nature of the literary flowering that has taken place in French Canada, here described in detail for the first time in English." Light wrinkling at bottom of spine, tiny stain in text of page 89. Dust jacket has wrinkling at bottom of the spine and at top of front flap area, one tiny edge tear and two tiny edge chips.
