Adams, Ansel (Photographs) (illustrator). 28 pages, featuring some of Ansel Adam's lesser known photographic images. His work is represented with dramatic and iconic black and white photographs, plus thoughtful comments on and assessments of his legacy and activist contributions to the environmental movement. The covers also are used to display this American's monumental images of the landscape. The image on the front cover is "Rock, Merced River, Autumn, Yosemite Valley c. !962." On the rear cover, "Rock and Grass Moraine Lake, Sequoia National Park c. 1932." Format is 11" high x 8-1/2" wide. Clean, unmarked, two-staple binding is very tight. Undated. Ansel Adams was born in 1902 and died in 1984. His reputation continues to grow with time and the visual record he left helps preserve a more sanctified time for U.S. National Parks, now experiencing the seemingly inevitable changes, many undesirable, to the American West which he loved dearly.
