About this Item: Leipzig, Friedrich Christian Dürr, [ca. 1770]., 1770. 8vo. 16 unnumbered pp. T. p. in red and black. With 48 woodcuts on 8 pages. Illustrated original half calf. Charmingly illustrated, early ABC-book for children with 48 woodcuts illustrating the alphabet, with "witty verses accompanying the woodcuts" (cf. Wegehaupt). - The strongly rubbed binding is illustrated with a drummer on a horse (back cover) and a decorative alphabet (front cover). Browned and somewhat smudged throughout; small tear-out (c. 22:6 mm) in lower margin of t. p. (loss of 4 letters in printer’s name), altogether a fair copy in its original binding. Rare. Wegehaupt 2 (with color illustration). Not in Seebaß. Seller Inventory # 4205
