CONDITION: Fine in Very Good jacket; no names, book is in lovely, crisp condition with just a little fading to top edges of boards; slight edgewear to unclipped jacket and stain under round price sticker; unclipped 2.00. New York: Exposition Press, 1960, stated First Edition, (1st printing); red cloth stamped with a desert and mountain landscape, in red jacket with ink drawing of Gauto trudging through the desert toward a smiling mountain and a photograph of the author/artist on the back; 5.13x8.25", 39 pp. A little Mexican boy hopes to gather cool snow from the high mountain for his ill sister, but there Quetzacoatl guides him to the wisdom of the mission below. A little classic, hard to find, by an author only briefly connected with Mexico; with very nice inked sketches facing each page. ABE Heritage Seller since 1996; conservative AB condition grading.
