A collection of eleven sketches by Trollope which appeared anonymously at interviews in the Pall Mall Gazette from July 10th to September 7th 1800, they have never been reprinted until their present publication in book form. Anthony Trollope (1815 - 1882) was one of the most successful, prolific and respected English novelists of the Victorian era. Some of his best-loved works, collectively known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire, revolve around the imaginary county of Barsetshire. He also wrote perceptive novels on political, social, and gender issues, and on other topical matters. With a foreword by Michael Sadleir (1888 - 1957) was a British novelist and book collector. In a quarter cloth binding with marbled paper covered boards in a protective wrap. Externally, in a lovely condition with only very slight wear to extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
