Vermerk auf dem Vorderdeckel der Broschur: "Ein Freiex zur gef. Besprechung in der Hallischen Zeitung", dieser Vermerk mit Buchstabenverlust durch Beschnitt. Innen teils leicht gebräunt, aber insgesamt sehr gut erhalten. Sehr seltener Bericht einer Reise nach Äthiopien, die zur Gefangenschaft durch Theodorus II führte. Hintergrund ist die Gefangennahme der Missionare Stern und Rosenthal sowie des britischen Konsums Cameron, die schließlich zur britischen Militärexpedition 1868 und Theodorus' Tod führte. Über den Verfasser ist weiter nichts weiter bekannt; einiges im Bericht spricht auch für einen fiktiven Reisebericht. Ein Henry Ferdinand Apel aus Birmingham reiste in den späten 1860er Jahren durch Europa und wurde an mehreren Orten wegen Betrugs steckbrieflich gesucht; möglicherweise handelt es sich um den Verfasser dieser Schrift.
