XV in English, pp. 1-121 in Hebrew, pp. 123 - 252 consists of Hebrew and English vocabulary list, pp. 253 - 282 contains exercises for review in Hebrew. Signed in Hebrew on front endpaper by the translator and editor, Milton Arfa, who was a distinguished Rabbi, author and professor of Hebrew literature and philosophy at Yeshiva University, Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute, Hunter College, Hebrew Union College and New York University. As chairman of the Israel Matz Foundation, Dr. Arfa devoted himself to aiding indigent Hebrew writers, and published scholarly works of Hebrew literature and philosophy. Overall very good condition. The author of the poetry, Yithak Shenhar (1902 - 1957) was a Ukrainian born Hebrew writer who was active in the Halutz movement. After moving to Palestine in 1921, he published his first poetry in 1924 and held a number of manual labor jobs before his literary career took off. He wrote short stories and poems about the life of Jews in Eastern Europe and in Palestine.
