Map and portable guide book are a fitting accompaniment to a cheap tour - red cloth covered boards with gilt title are age discoloured have minor corner bumps - spine is slightly bumped top and tail - 113 pages plus 32 pages of period advertisements - two maps of the course of the River Wye and a plan of Hereford Cathedral - text block edges are age discoloured and both endpapers are tanned - otherwise no blemishes or damage - the foldout maps are in fine condition.

First Edition. Undated but probably mid 1950s. There is quite heavy rubbing to the corners of the illustrated boards and some rubbing along the edges. Browning to the page edges . Gift message in ink in the ownership section on the reverse of the front free endpaper. There is some writing in pen on page 84 and a few spots and stains and the pages are a little browned but generally otherwise clean and unmarked. No jacket as issued. The comic strips are illustrated in colour, two tone and black and white by Hugh McClelland. There are also a number of stories which are also illustrated in colour, two tone and black and white and in most cases both the writers and the artists are credited. First printing.

Full black cloth with gilt bird design centered on front cover, gilt lettering on the spine, lightly bumped, previous owner's bookplate behind front cover. Light wear on the spine. Endpaper is split at the gutter but the board is still well attached. 121pp. text, + many full page plates in color and black & white. Burlington Magazine Monograph II. Stamp of the Saint Louis Art Museum on title page. Overall in GOOD condition Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Hardcover.
