Internally the book is unmarked except for a very old former owner name and address in a beautiful script.This book was written by E. Boyd Bagly who knew and loved Miss Alcock (1835-1913) herself. There was a world wide group of admirers who knew her through her many books Those admires who knew as she did, " the bliss, the pangs and the temptations of the life of the imagination." Miss Alcock was know for her novels of historical fiction dealing with religious and evangelical topics. Her best known work is The Spanish Brothers. Book is scarce and collectible. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall 1st Printing.
