Nach 30 Jahren konstanter Thematisierung von zeitgenössischer Kunst im öffentlichen Raum befragten die Kurator_innen und Künstler_innen im Jahr 2007 die Aktualität des Formates der Skulptur Projekte neu. Die vierte Ausstellung war in vielerlei Hinsicht auch eine Revision. Der ausgedehnte Rhythmus von 10 Jahren wurde im Vergleich zu den nun weltweit stattfindenden Biennalen, Triennalen oder auch der Kasseler documenta besonders wichtig. Brigitte Franzen prägte in diesem Zusammenhang den Begriff ?Langzeitstudie? Insgesamt 36 Künstler_innen beteiligten sich mit Projekten an der Ausstellung, die international breit rezipiert wurde. Viele von ihnen waren bereits in den Skulptur Projekten der Jahrzehnte zuvor beteiligt gewesen. Film, Video und performative Arbeiten wurden stärker als in den Jahrzehnten zuvor in die Ausstellung miteinbezogen. Parallel zu skulptur projekte münster 07 kuratierte Brigitte Franzen eine erste Archivausstellung, die während der Skulptur Projekte 2007 im Lichthof des Landesmuseums auf zwei Stockwerken zu sehen war. Diese erste Präsentation von Archivalien legte den Grundstein für die nachfolgenden Präsentation des Sammlungsbestandes des Skulptur Projekte Archivs. 900 gr. Schlagworte: Kunst - Bildhauerei.
