Endpapers have a map, drawn by LeRoy H. Appleton. 308 pages; 13 chapters; index; b & w photos and a few drawings. Cover's spine strip and back cover have small, faded spots. The bottom edge of the spine strip is a little frayed; the top edge is less so. The boards' bottom corners are threadbare. Water stain is on the top end of each board, the top end of frontal matter (up to 2 in.), the first 19 pages ( up to 1 in.) and the top end of the last 40 pages (up to 3 in.); the smaller stains are very faint. The first two pages and the last three pages are foxed. The endpapers' folds are darkened; 3 in. of the back one is split. The text block ends are darkened.
