Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - HE ORIGINS of welding are buried in the depths of antiquity, T commencing with the forging of native gold and copper, progressing in the bronze age with the braze welding of castings, but not developing greatly until relatively recently. It has been this century, and the latter half in particular, that welding has developed to the stage where there are more than 100 variants. Furthermore, joining by welding has become such an efficient technique that much of our modem way oflife would not be possible without it. The giant oil rigs, built to withstand the rigours of the North Sea, the minute wire connectors in the computer and transistor, and the automobile and truck, could not exist were it not for welding processes. Originally a uniquely manual process, the needs of industry have this century required welding techniques which could be mechanised. Some processes, such as friction welding, were readily mechanised but the most flexible and adaptable fusion processes awaited develop ments which allowed a continuous wire to be rapidly fed into the fusion zone. These processes, such as MAG and submerged arc, rapidly gave rise to machines for welding, with many appearing before the Second World War.

Be more than a spectator. ---- Daria de Beauvais & John Cornu Principe d'incertitude. Uncertainty Principle. ---- Christian Alandete Toute ressemblance avec des faits reels n'est que pure coincidence. Any resemblance to real events is purely coincidental. // Your interests seem to slip into a gap between minimalism and the organic. How does one bridge the huge divide between two such distant concepts? - This summer, at Barcelona's MACBA, I saw one of Carl Andre's very beautiful Floor Pieces. When I walked on it, a guard yelled at me brusquely to tell me not to walk on the work. The episode made me think, since it goes against the basic intentions of the work, whilst being very revealing. From my point of view, life has caught up with the radical dimension of minimalism. The surface of this piece by Carl Andre has effectively become the background for countless comings and goings, countless lives. This tells us that works intended to be far removed from manual intervention in terms of fabrication - and whose aesthetic was close to that of industry - have, little by little, surreptitiously, become the object of a biological decomposition. Works of art die too, and the modernist Utopia of minimalist art will not be able to escape that reality. (Interview, S. 85) ISBN 9782358640305 Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
