Hardcover. Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket Condition: VG. 1st. In this collection of 23 poems, many of them are directly related to experiences, incidents and associates of sailing in the waters off the South Island's Banks Peninsular. In them, Denis Glover diplays his love of yachting, the sea, the challenges it presents and the comradship of ocean adventuring. His poems also explore the seascapes and its coastal land areas. His opening long poem is dedicated to Mick Stimpson "a very real and much-loved man in my Banks Peninsula days." Only a few of the collection had been published earlier and Glover's verses here are, in his word, "colloquial." First edition in 1979 from Pegasus, 56 pages. White cloth hard covers with silver spine titles are VG+, internally excellent, no inscriptions, Colour pictorial wrap-round DJ is VG. A well preserved copy of a scarce Glover title.
