Tan cloth cover with a repeat patern of turkey dinner printed in green, red title, illustrated dustajcket. The book has good hinges, firm binding, clean pages, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is priceclipped and has edge rubbing, mainly along the front joint, no chips or tears. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

First thus, first impression. Publisher's gilt-decorated vellum, top edge gilt as issued, housed in a later bespoke slipcase. Deluxe issue of the Brock-illustrated edition of The Chimes, one of Dicken's five "Chistmas Books". Eighteen illustrations, eight in colour, by the Cambridge artist Charles Edmund Brock [1870-1938]. Very good condition, the binding, decoration and titles clean and bright, the pages and endpapers unmarked. An unusually well-preserved example of this scarce edition.

Five volumes. First thus, first impressions. Publisher's decorated cloth, top edge gilt. A complete set of the Brock-illustrated edition of Charles Dicken's Christmas Books. Eighty-eight illustrations (including forty in colour) by the Cambridge artist Charles Edmund Brock [1870-1938]. Very good condition, some fading to the spines, spots of foxing to the endpapers, faded contemporary gift inscription to that of The Chimes, bookplates to the last three volumes, otherwise no faults. A very nice set. Scarce.

Polished Calf. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition Thus. Finely bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe (stamp-signed) in full polished red calf, the back with black morocco labels and decorated in gilt, triple gilt rules to covers, marbled end papers, gilt turn ins, all edges gilt. With great full color illustrations by C.E. Brock. Near Fine, small sspot near bottom of spine, tiny rubs at the corners. A quite lovely copy with the desirable Brock illustrations. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

First impressions of the Brock-illustrated edition, five volumes [1905-1907] in the publishers full cream vellum, elaborately titled and decorated in gilt. A total of eighty-eight illustrations, (including forty in colour) by the Cambridge artist Charles Edmund Brock [1870-1938]. Very good condition, boards bowing a little as usual, some spotting and offsetting to the endpapers and paste-downs with minor spotting to some of the plates. Unobtrusive gift inscription to the front endpaper of The Battle of Life, Dickens Centenary commemoration stamp to the half-titles of The Chimes and The Haunted Man, otherwise no faults. A beautiful set and very scarce.
