Spine has reading creases and as a result, book tends to fall open between pp. 208 - 209, smack dab in the middle. There are two surnames of previous owners inked to top corner of first leaf; one was crossed out and replaced by the second (both consist of a single word). No other marks in evidence, no highlighting, dogears, etc. Pages are almost entirely free of toning. Includes a couple of maps and an index. From the back wrap: "One of the greatest biographies of an Australian pioneering family ever written", said the North Australian Monthly. The Australian Broadcasting Commission called it, "The liveliest and most entertaining history book any secondary school pupil will ever have the good fortune to study."
