Item Description: Boni and Liverlight, 1922. Hardcover. Book Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The First U.S.A Printing published by Boni And Liverlight in 1922. The First state, with the expletive ' shit ' appearing to the last line of page 219 and not cancelled as per subsequent issues. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light pushing to the spine ends. Small mark to lower front board. Mild offsetting to the end papers. Light toning to the text block. Free from inscriptions, erasures and markings. A sharp copy. The notoriously fragile WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good + condition. It is the correct first issue with the $2.00 price to the spine. Edge-wear with slight loss to spine ends , folds and edges. It has been rebacked in places to the verso with Japanese tissue paper (see images). Some fading to the spine. The wrapper remains very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The wrapper is very fragile and as such original examples are very scarce and usually present with heavy chipping and loss. This wrapper has survived amazingly well for its age and is in far better condition than usually encountered. A WW1 iconic title and Cumming's first separately published book: his account of being incarcerated by the French, and one of the lasting accounts to come out of World War I. Kennedy (Cumming's biographer), says less than 2,000 copies of this debut were published. Collectible. Ashtonrarebooks welcomes direct contact. Bookseller Inventory # ABE-1477075296261

Item Description: Thomas Seltzer, 1923. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Ed. 1st ed. This is a most unusual copy of the true first edition of cummings' first book--it has a signed presentation note to Eugene Delafield opposite the title page, and is signed again by cummings inside the book over the poem "Orientale." The book is in excellent condition with the spine darkened and the spine label showing wear. In the interior of the book there is a small, repaired edge tear on p. 119, amd a small offsetting mark at the top of the page gutters on pp. 114-115, where the owner undoubtedly used a piece of paper as a bookmark. Overall, however, a very nice copy, and rare to find signed--especially twice!. Signed by Author(s). Bookseller Inventory # 005705
