Letterpress print and so this copy, which has 1916 on the title page and a 1917 copyright by the author, is not one of the offset printings made in the second half of the 20th Century. Aside from some shadows on the end pagers, the contents appear clean, complete and securely bound (with cloth or cloth tape reinforcing the gutters of the paste-downs). Red cloth with gilt titling on the upper board. The spine is sunned and lightly bumped in the head and tail edges. The upper board does have a small cloth tear with associated fraying along the top edge, and slight color fading in the lower corner. No ex-library markings!
