About this Item: Lee and Shepard, Boston, 1889. Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Capt. Farrar wrote a series of four books for boys on sport and adventure in the wilds of Maine. Up the North Branch was the fourth and last volume of the series. I have been buying and selling books about Maine for nearly 40 years. This is the first copy of a first edition of Up the North Branch that I have ever had for sale. In fact, until today I have never had first editions of any of the four volumes to sell. l This copy has bright gold lettering on the spine. The front cover shows a boy being chased up a tree by what would appear to be a Moose. The first editions of all four volumes have the same cover design. There is minor soiling but I would still rate this as a near fine copy. Seller Inventory # 007677
