About this Item: J. Otty, [], Praze, Prague, 1923. /M. Fischerova- Kvechova. (Marie) (illustrator). Praze, Prague: J. Otty, [1923], paper boards with blue bird and flower design, blue cloth spine, yellow endpapers with bird and flower pattern, bright folkloric illustrations facing text with intricate coloured capitals on every spread; 18 x 18 cm; np. Czech language hardback. Illustrated by a prolific artist, very interested in children and Eastern European folklore, who lived from 1892 to 1984. The colours glow. CONDITION: Good minus; publisher's representative (?) stamp on dedication page; graded thus because spine cloth is split on the top side and one cm is missing from the top; otherwise, boards toned, corners and edges bumped and rubbed, front hinge cracked but holding tight, back hinge fine, toned pages very bright, clean, and unwrinkled. (We have wrapped this old treasure in clear mylar to support the spine cloth as amateur spine repair is what caused the damage in the first place.) /M. Fischerova- Kvechova. (Marie).
