About this Item: Fluxus Editorial Council., New York., 1979. (37.5 x 29 cm). Black and white illustrations throughout. The eleventh issue of the Fluxus newspaper. "‘A VTRE EXTRA” was edited by the ‘Fluxus Editorial Council,’ in this case, it was Geoffrey Hendricks who initated the project and actually edited it. Sara Seagull was its designer. The newspaper is a posthumous tribute to George Maciunas, printed with the headline ”MACIUNAS DIES. Hart attack kills him at summer palace." Numbered 11, it can be considered the final Fluxus newspaper. Contributions by Peter Moore, Robert Watts, Henry Flynt, Wolf Vostell, Mieko Shiomi, Ben Vautier, Milan Kn z k, Geoffrey Hendricks, George Brecht, Alison Knowles, Bici Forbes, Daniel Spoerri, Ken Friedman, and others. About this Item: Edited by Robert Watts and Sara Seagull, and Flux Editorial Council for Fluxus., New York., 1976. (58.4 x 44.5 cm). This tenth issue of the Fluxus newspaper came about at the suggestion of George Brecht. He, Geoffrey Hendricks, and several other Fluxus artists were organising a Festschrift to honour George Maciunas, which included original contributions for a collective box, ‘Laudatio Scripta Pro George.’ Robert Watts and Sara Seagull were given these contributions to reproduce, from which they edited and designed a newspaper published in time for the Festschrift in New York, May 2, 1976. Geoffrey Hendricks served as producer of both the box and the newspaper. The sixth issue of the Fluxus newspaper. “‘Fluxus Vaudeville TouRnamEnt,’” published in New York, July 1965, was by now entirely edited by George Maciunas, anonymously. A propaganda vehicle for Fluxus performance, it contains many photographs of past events and two posters for events later that year. The posters promote “Perpetual Fluxfest at New Cinematheque” (Sept.-Dec. 1965) and “Flux Orchestra at Carnegie Recital Hall” (September 25, 1965). [Ref. Offset lithograph printed on both sides. The seventh issue '. was the most innovative of all the Fluxus newspapers. George Maciunas, its editor and designer, invited Fluxus artists to devise events for the page.' The cover is a collage of photographs showing either Shigeko Kubota's performance of "Vagina Painting" or the Fluxorchestra concert at the Carnegie Recital Hall in 1965. The three other pages are each devoted to the work of a single artist: Yoko Ono and her 'Do It Yourself Fluxfest', Ben Vautier and 'Fifty eight propositions for One Page', and Jim Riddle's 'One Hour'.
