Single printed sheet, recto-only; printed in brown ink on pale green paper; text in two columns beneath header, with publisher's logo at bottom center. Mild toning; a few short, closed tears into margins; Very Good. Rare prospectus for this publication which was hailed as "a document of extraordinary human importance." Notes that publication of The Letters was sponsored by an "International Committee" whose members included Benedetto Croce, Maxim Gorki, Sinclair Lewis, H.G. Wells, and others. The Letters were edited by Marion Denman Frankfurter (wife of Supreme Court Justic Felix Frankfurter) and Gardner Jackson; both were prominent members of the Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee.

First Edition. First printing. Inscribed "May they all 'dance on the air,'" signed by co-editor Gardner Jackson, undated but apparently contemporary with publication. Octavo (20.75cm.); original black cloth, printed paper spine label; xi,[5],414pp; slipcase; photographic frontispiece, 4 leaves of plates, including two photographs and two facsimiles. Label toned, else Very Good and sound, albeit lacking jacket. Slipcase sound but worn at corners and edges, with partial split to upper joint; Good. Reputedly one of a few copies (fewer than twenty) prepared for presentation by the editors, issued in slipcase without dustwrappers (we have this on the authority of a noted Sacco & Vanzetti collector, but we can find no contemporary sources to verify the claim). Contains 272 letters and an appendix providing a complete record of the case, with biographies and notes. This copy inscribed by co-editor Gardner Jackson, who had been a key member of the Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee. Signed copies are uncommon.
