Roger Garaudy (1913-2012) - philosopher, writer and public figure, participant in the French Resistance, senator (1959-1962), one of the ideologists of the French Communist Party. Throughout his life, Garaudy's political and religious views took a "sharp turn" several times - he was a communist, a left-wing radical Gauchist, professed Christianity, and at the end of his life he converted to Islam. One of the most famous communists in France. In the 1960-1970s. advocated de-Stalinization and democratic communism of the "Czech type"; he was expelled from the party for his position.
