Softcover. Condition: g to g+. First Yiddish edition. Duodecimo. 31pp. [1]. Original printed tan wrappers, with dark blue lettering on the cover. Includes both Yiddish and Russian language covers and publication information. This scarce work is an early report on the atrocities committed by the Nazis during the German occupation of Poland during the Second World War. The author recounts acts of cruelty, violence and torture visited upon Poles and Jews alike, making it an early account of the Holocaust in Poland during the first years of the war. Undoubtedly the work was used as a powerful propaganda tool within the Soviet Union at the time and was originally printed in Russian only two weeks after the collapse of the MolotovRibbentrop Pact (on June 22nd, 1941), marking the start of the war on the Eastern Front. Text throughout in Yiddish translated from the original Russian. Wrappers with some rubbing, closed tears, chipping and staining along the spine. Covers with some minor staining, creasing and smudges. Interior (including title page) with minor sporadic foxing, as well as some light staining along the interior gutter of pages by the staple. Pages age toned throughout. Wrappers in good, interior in good+ condition overall. Quite scarce. Yiddish title: ?? ????????? ??????? ??? ????? Author: ????????, ??
