Black-and-white illustrations. Near fine. "Portrait 1". This is the first of a series of "portraits" of cultural figures issued by Qumran Verlag fur Ethnologie und Kunst. A brochure announcing the series and this book is laid in.Helmut Heissenbuttel [1921-1996] was a German novelist and poet. Among his works are "Das Textbuch" and "Marlowe's Ende". He won the important Georg Buchner Prize in 1969.The text is in German.

Er arbeitete in den 1950er Jahren als Sekretär von Max Bill an der Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm und übertrug Bills handschriftliche Notizen ins Schreibmaschinenformat. 1953 gründete er mit Dieter Roth und Marcel Wyss die Zeitschrift Spirale, von 1960 bis 1965 gab er die Buchreihe konkrete poesie poesia concreta heraus. Von 1961 bis 1967 war Gomringer Leiter des Schweizerischen Werkbundes. Als Professor für Theorie der Ästhetik lehrte er von 1978 bis 1990 an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. 1986 hatte er eine Gastprofessur für Poetik in Bamberg und wurde 1988 Intendant des Internationalen Forums für Gestaltung in Ulm. Ab 1971 war Gomringer Mitglied der Berliner Akademie der Künste. 2000 gründete er das Institut für Konstruktive Kunst und Konkrete Poesie (IKKP). Gramm 600.
