It is a great and noble poem which commends the sailors of our nation with fit humility and truth for their great courage and singular activity. [so that] coming generations might imitate the high heart and manly resolution of those who tried the fortune of the sea under such hard conditions for the advancement of their country's honour'. Bindings are tight, sturdy, and square; wear to edges and corners of boards is very minor; illustrations and text also very good; leather spines toned, gilt titling remains bright and bold.
