Harry A. Wolfson was the first chairman of a Judaic Studies Center in the United States, teaching and doing his research at Harvard. He was extremely productive and wrote works including a translation and commentary on Hasdai Crescas' Or Adonai, the philosophy of the church fathers, the repercussions of the Kalam on Judaism, and works on Spinoza, Philo, and Averroes. / Francis Howard Fobes was Professor of Latin at Amherst College. He is remembered for his texts of Aristotle and for his translations.
