Very Good, contents near Fine to Fine, slight tanning to the first and last leaves from the very tanned end papers. An interesting volume with wonderful illustrations by Harlow, half of which are in color or sepia tone in addition to the beautiful color half-titles. Though there is no indication in the book, this was purchased from a descendant of Harlow and was very likely bound by him or a member of his family. Each of the individual works that are here are rather scarce, especially the Hawthorne. A unique and beautiful volume of classic American prose and poetry.
