About this Item: The Modern Library, New York, 1946. Hard Cover. Condition: Good Plus. Dust Jacket Condition: Good Plus. First Edition Thus, Later Printing. Modern Library Giant, G52, first issued in 1946. Joyce's sometimes erotic "stream-of-consciousness" masterpiece that stands today as one of the true classics of Western literature. Both red-cloth covers show tape residue and some minor damage where at one time the dustjacket protector was taped to the top and bottom edges of the boards; a touch of wear along the boards' bottom edges; some tape-stain marks on both end pages; light age-tanning of page margins, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square. The dustjacket shows some wrinkling and creasing; some age-tanning on the obverse; some minor edgewear but no significant tearing or chipping -- 99% whole. Overall, book and jacket, if a bit lacking in appearance, are tight, solid and complete. Seller Inventory # 004754

About this Item: Random House/Modern Library, New York, 1934. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. No Jacket. First American Edition. New York: Random House/Modern Library, 1934. Joyce's masterpiece, acknowledged as the high spot of Twentieth-Century modernist literature; perhaps also one of the unread books of all time; more's the pity - it is worth the effort. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition. Oatmeal cloth binding with bevelled edges; the lettering is in black and red. Clean text; 768 pages. Lacking the scarce dustjacket, this copy remains in remarkably good condition, with none of the expected soiling that easily turns the cloth grubby. This could easily be graded close to a Fine copy; however, both front and back gutters have cracked. Quercus has compromised on the grading as Very Good Plus, assuming that with a few minor repairs this would be a Fine copy. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First American Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket. Seller Inventory # 002662
