Condition: Sehr gut. Deutsche Erstausgabe. 210 (2) Seiten. 17,5 cm. Sehr guter Zustand. Besitzvermerk auf Vorsatz. - Jean Hyppolyte Giraudoux (* 29. Oktober 1882 in Bellac, Haute-Vienne; 31. . . . Aus: wikipedia-Jean_Giraudoux. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 350 Gelbes Originalleinen mit goldgeprägten Rückentiteln und Kopffarbschnitt.

Faint offsetting on rear pastedown, else about fine in a very good dust jacket with a couple tiny tears and creases on the cover, and tiny scuff marks on the spine. English adaptation of the French play based on an early German novella. The Broadway production featured Audrey Hepburn in the title role as Ondine, the water nymph; Mel Ferrer (whose theatrical romance with Hepburn resulted in their marriage in real life), and Marian Seldes. *Ondine* is a love story of a water nymph Ondine (Hepburn) and a knight, Bitter Hans (Ferrer), who rejects his respectable fiancee Bertha (played by Seldes) to be with *Ondine*, and the folly and tragedy that results from their union. This American version of *Ondine* won the 1954 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play, and contributed to Audrey Hepburn's breakout year when she won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress and the Academy Award for Best Actress for *Roman Holiday* that same year.
