Inscribed by Jean Guiguet on the front flyleaf: "With the author's compliments, Jean Guiguet." Bennett is a Virginia Woolf scholar and critic, and the author of the book, *Virginia Woolf: Her Art as a Novelist* (published in 1945). The rear cover contains approximately twenty-five lines of pencil notes, with citations to various pages of text, by Joan Bennett, presumably in preparation of a review of *Virginia Woolf et Son Oeuvre*.
