About this Item: New York City, NY: Champion Studio, 1988. Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. 1 pages. Published in 1988. Rare Jim Stryker and Walter Kundzicz/Champion Studios collectible item. A contemporary (1988) color photographic print of Jim Stryker, the single most popular and most good-looking male-nude model discovered by Walter Kundzicz. The print measures 3.5 X 5 inches and is presented "bleed". Champion Studio's vintage prints were "pocket size" and had white borders, the widespread practice in the 1960's. It is encased in its original plastic jacket. The photograph shows Jim Stryker in one of his most breathtakingly beautiful portraits, posing on the beach, in a "full-chest" medium shot that utilizes only natural light. "Famous for quality color images of handsome, athletic young men from the late 1950's and early 1960's, these photographs of scantily clad athletes (packed with amusing props, costumes, and bulging posing pouches) are notable not only for the commercial success they enjoyed during their heyday but also for their enduring creativity and imagination. Kundzicz and his work left an indelible imprint on male physique photography. Today, nearly half a century later, Kundzicz's work and his most popular models continue to have their ardent fans" (Reed Massengill). Jim Stryker is the prototypical All-American male beauty. He anticipates by about two decades the model/stars of the reigning American photographer of the male nude, Bruce Weber. This is the genuine article, an absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Jim Stryker, Walter Kundzicz/Champion, and male erotic art photography collectors. This is an original color photographic print, and it is very boldly and beautifully signed in black pen on verso by the photographer: "W. Kundzicz/Champion". It is also stamped "Champion: Not For Commercial Use Or Minors" (in red) and "Jim Stryker" (in black). As far as we know, this is the only such signed copy of the print available online, is eminently suitable for framing, and is in fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a beauty. Please note: There are Jim Stryker and Walter Kundzicz prints available online, but most of them are digital copies or have serious flaws and so have little or no collectible value. This print is a beauty, and as such, an accessible and lovely alternative. A rare signed copy thus. One of the iconic American male-nude models of the 20th century. A fine print. (SEE ALSO OTHER JIM STRYKER, TUCK POWELL, JOE DALLESANDRO, AND BRUCE OF LOS ANGELES TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 14392

Rare Jim Stryker and Walter Kundzicz/Champion Studios collectible item. The photograph belonged to the small surviving number of portraits in Walter Kundzicz's possession. The original prints were taken by Kundzicz's partner after Champion Studios dissolved, have completely vanished, and never been found. He is photographed in a natural setting and has close-cropped hair (Stryker grew his hair out for his later sessions with Kundzicz). The photograph belonged to the small surviving number of portraits in Walter Kundzicz's possession. The original prints were taken by Kundzicz's partner after Champion Studios dissolved, have completely vanished, and never been found. Furthermore, Stryker did not pose completely nude again in any of his later iconic portraits, and this photograph does not appear in Walter Kundzicz's "Champion" book. It is also dated/stamped "Jul 1988". A fine collectible print. (SEE ALSO OTHER JIM STRYKER, TUCK POWELL, JOE DALLESANDRO, AND BRUCE OF LOS ANGELES TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 14388

About this Item: New York City, NY: Champion Studio, 1988. Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. 1 pages. Published in 1988. Rare Jim Stryker and Walter Kundzicz/Champion Studios collectible item. A contemporary (1988) color photographic print of Jim Stryker, the single most popular and most good-looking male-nude model discovered by Walter Kundzicz, in one of his earliest (and very few) full-frontal nude portraits. The print measures 3.5 X 5 inches and is presented "bleed". Champion Studio's vintage prints were "pocket size" and had white borders, the widespread practice in the 1960's. It is encased in a protective plastic sheet. The photograph shows Jim Stryker in a Modern full-profile pose, Perfection Incarnate, with an erect penis. He is photographed in a dramatically lit studio setting and has close-cropped hair (Stryker grew his hair out for his later sessions with Kundzicz). The photograph belonged to the small surviving number of portraits in Walter Kundzicz's possession. The original prints were taken by Kundzicz's partner after Champion Studios dissolved, have completely vanished, and never been found.
