B&W Illustrations; This book is in Very Good- condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine of the book has a light slant. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping, rubbing and beginning wear. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a previous owner's inked gift notation on the front endpaper. The dust jacket has several edge nicks, tears, and small chips missing, along with some light water spotting and a bit of ground-in dirt. "Johanna Louise Spyri (née Heusser; ) 12 June 1827 7 July 1901) was a Swiss-born author of novels, notably children's stories, and is best known for her book Heidi. Born in Hirzel, a rural area in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, as a child she spent several summers near Chur in Graubünden, the setting she later would use in her novels.".
