About this Item: Hodder and Stoughton, London, 1965. Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First edition, no mention of later printings on the copyright page. Inscribed by the author Sir John Bagot Glubb (also known as Glubb Pasha), and dated 15th November 1970. Dust jacket is lightly rubbed and soiled, with more significant rubbing to the edges and corners. Top edge of the jacket has a pair of closed tears (the largest of which is no more than 1 1/2" in length) that were at some point repaired with tape. The tape has been removed from one of the tears but remains over the other, and some color fading from the tape is present around both. Dust jacket is now protected in a clear archival jacket cover. Green cloth boards are similarly rubbed, and lightly to moderately bumped at the corners and spine ends. Binding a bit shaken, perhaps a little delicate, but overall sound and holding together tight (no loose pages, no separation). Interior is clean and bright throughout (no writing or highlighting present). Overall we are grading the book Good in a like jacket, it remains an attractive copy of this scarcely signed work despite its used condition and the condition points described. We are happy to provide photos upon request!. Inscribed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # N0231
