Located on Lake George, the spot was originally fortified in 1625, later turned into a traditional fort, but was taken and later destroyed by the French in 1696. It was rebuilt in the 1750s. The newer version was also taken by French and Indian forces. One of the authors is the Civil War Medal of Honor winner and later Governor of Maine. Very good copy of the soft bound, first edition booklet. The report includes a fold-out map of Fort William Henry redrawn from the original made in 1699. 9 pages.
