12mo, 12pp., stitched, as issued; 1 folding lithograph plate; fine. A proposal for making approaches to harbors safe in foul weather, by submerging a cable of considerable length sufficiently below the surface of the water that a ship might purposely snag the cable with its anchor. The folding plate is quite nice, even though the scheme seems half-baked at best. Not in NUC. Hagley Museum and AAS only in OCLC.
