Purple Cloth. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Reprint; (1st Pub. 1939). Purple Cloth. Good/No Jacket. Reprint. Hardback. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 389 pages; this is the final book of a series (Woman in all ages and in all countries), and is the story of women in the Americas, North and South, and of what is known of aboriginal nations and the new nations formed from European colonies. About 2/3 of the book is given to the U.S., up to about 1900. Women's status, legal rights, social standing, role, duties, etc. are discussed. Frontispiece 'The 'Seraglio of the Inca' shows nearly unclothed women of the harem. Book condition: Spine cover has changed from purple to blue; spine top is frayed; circa 1 inch of the front cover top edge is missing it's cloth; book edges have darkened considerably, and there is a little scattered foxing on these edges; text, from (c) page to rear endpapers is an off-white, or very pale tan even tone. Front cover is an interesting one--a nude woman, arms spread wide, standing on the North pole of a globe she dwarfs, surrounded on the front cover's margins by a large feather and linked-chain design.
