Slipcase is near perfect, clean, featuring reproductions of the front and rear cover of dust jacket. The only flaw in this copy is an embossed "library of" stamp from the original owner.

I would rate this as a very good book in a very good minus jacket. The book has wear at head and heel of spine and minor wear at corners. The covers and spine label are still bright. A few faint smudges visible on covers, can be seen in photos. The dust jacket is a true first issue jacket with Steinbeck looking to his left towards the spine. There is wear at head and heel of spine and corners as well as general edgewear. The dust jacket spine has a spot where white shows through, about a half in in diameter. $2.00 price intact. Despite these issues, the jacket presents well in a Brodart cover, photos are the best description.
