Item Description: Dana Estes & Company, Boston, 1902. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good+. No Jacket. Joseph J. Mora (illustrator). First Edition Later Printing. Tan cloth boards have a lovely colored illustration of a fairy under a tree on the front and a castle on the rear. Corners are worn through. Spine is worn at ends and has a 1" tear at bottom. The ffep has been removed, leaving the frontis and tissue guard loose for a half inch at bottom. Still very securely attached. The frontis does have two tiny, tiny tears. Pages are toned, with an occassional smudge/spot. The book is, according to the title page, Illustrated with over Eighty Text Cuts, and Twenty-four Full-page Half-tones by Joseph J. Mora. I didn't count the text illustrations, but all 24 of the plates are present. The one on page 84 must have been stuck to the preceding page and was roughly torn free, causing a dime sized surface loss. This was originally published by the same publisher in 1887. It was later published by Whitman, in the 1920s. This is the 2nd printing of the original. J.J. Mora 's illustrations are on glossy, high quality paper. They are fantastic in every sense of the word. All Mora early books are extremely rare. Whitman reprints are more common. Heavy book may require additional shipping. Bookseller Inventory # 000013
