Laid in and attached by a rusty paper clip: business card for Geller and Ross, Library Consultants (with rust imprint); a typed sales sheet on Coldwell Banker letterhead for a Pacific Heights property at 2772 Scott St., San Francisco. The sheet names Gardner Daily (a contributor to the above catalog), as the builder, but his name is crossed out in pen, and the sheet is signed by Gardner Dailey in the lower right corner. Also attached, five mimeographed, typed pages: California Historical Society Fifth Annual Architectural History Tour: Gardner A. Dailey Buildings. This shows one of his buildings at 2750 Scott St. Gardner Dailey, an innovative 20th-century architect, helped to define a style of Bay Area architecture during the 1930s and 1940s that is still very prevalent today. Known as the "Bay Region Style" or "Bay Area Tradition," Dailey’s love and appreciation of modern architecture helped to create some of the finest examples of minimalist design in the San Francisco Bay area.
