About this Item: Vlastita naklada [Privately published], Zagreb, 1966. The illustration is signed, numbered (one of 200 copies) and dated by Dieter Roth. (illustrator). First edition. The illustration is signed, numbered (one of 200 copies) and dated by Dieter Roth. First edition. (4) p., and 1 plate with mounted illustration by Dieter Roth. The periodical has a screen printed cover and title page, inside a plate with a mounted smaller letterpress sheet with felt-tip pen drawing of a box by Dieter Roth. Each copy has a different drawing. Roth started to make concrete poetry in the mid-1950s, and termed these compositions "ideograms". These works of him evolved into "stupidograms" a grid of printed commas completed with a simple pencil or pen figure, mimicking word-seeking games. Gorgona was an "anti-magazine" published by the Zagreb based avant-garde art collective with the same name between 1961 and 1966. During this time 11 issues were published, each was completely designed by an artist related to the group: Josip Vani?ta (n. 1, 1961), Julije Knifer (n. 2, 1961), Marijan Jev?ovar (n. 3, 1961), Victor Vasarely (n. 4, 1961), Ivan Ko?ari? (n. 5, 1961) Josip Vani?ta (n. 6, 1961), Milijenko Horvat (n. 7, 1965), Harold Pinter (n. 8, 1965), Dieter Roth (n. 9, 1966), Josip Vani?ta (n. 10, 1966), Josip Vani?ta (n. 11, 1966).
