About this Item: The Ilkley Literature Festival, Ilkley, 1973. Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Special Edition. A portfolio of poetry by W.H. Auden and ten notable poets who all submitted a signed manuscript version of their work as a tribute to Auden. These fellow-poets were commissioned "to take a title or epigraph from one of Auden's published works as a starting point for an original composition". The Scolar Press printed facsimiles of these contributions on white laid paper. The paper is watermarked "L'Amatruda" and originates from a paper mill in Amalfi, Salerno (Italy). These facsimile manuscripts are contained within a pocket at the rear inside cover of a lime green coloured card folder. The folder is bound with black tape to the spine and black coloured lettering. Also enclosed is a staple-bound unpaginated 12pp booklet (measures 220mm x 335mm) in similar coloured thin card. All poems are present except one of the pages in the booklet has not been printed. Part of the poem "TV Coverage" by James Kirkup and beginning of the poem "Afterwards" by George Macbeth is missing from the printed book. However, these two poems (and the others) are all present in the printed set of facsimiles. What makes this particular copy of the commemorative edition of poetry special is that each of the 10 facsimile poems has EACH been SIGNED a second time by the poets themselves (ie NOT a facsimile signature). Altogether in very good condition - slight edgewear to outer card folder. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 007163
