Item 2 : Familiarity and unfamiliarity, with laminated coloured pictorial boards (hardback) to the front and at the rear the interior being a series of coloured images that fold out as a giant concertina of Japanese photography, very striking and colourful, loose inside the folder is a separate leaflet with text by Peter Popham photographs by Kijuro Yahagi, this gives the key to what the images are. For instance sheet no. 21 is a poster dedicated to Peace cigarettes a brand that emerged in Japan shortly after World War II this is explained in a printed leaflet which is also included inside the folder, this is by Peter Popham and gives 'Captions to Scrapbook.'
