He specialized on onnagata, the female roles. The book was made during the climax of his career and became very popular. Association copy. It has a handwritten dedication to a famous painter and book illustrator Asakura Setsu (1922-2014). Supplement poster is a portrait of Tamasaburo cuddling himself in furs on the Venetian gondola. Text in Japanese. Folio. 33,8x25,3 cm. 158 pages. Unpaginated. Colour illustrations, arranged in black. Signature on the free endpaper in white marker. Clean pages.
