Alexandra Michailowna Kollontai (1872-1952) war eine russische Revolutionärin, Diplomatin und Schriftstellerin, die sich als sozialistische Feministin für Kommunehäuser sowie für die freie Liebe und Sexualität einsetzte. Durch ihre Kritik an der sowjetischen Bürokratie auf dem X. Parteitag im März 1921 geriet sie in den Verdacht, der parteifeindlichen Opposition anzugehören. Dieser Umstand trug vermutlich dazu bei, dass sie 1923 als Gesandte nach Norwegen versetzt wurde. Immerhin war sie dadurch die erste akkreditierte Diplomatin weltweit. Bis zu ihrem Tod galt Kollontai als loyale Stalin-Anhängerin. Dass sie zeitweilig als Hoffnungsträgerin der revolutionär-unionistischen Bewegung gehandelt wurde beweist diese, von den IWW hg. Schrift über die basisorientierte Arbeiterkontrolle, in der sich Kollontai die zunehmende Bürokratie in der bolschwistischen Partei moniert.
