Nacido en Terra Haute, Indiana, parece haber vivido y trabajado en Chicago, y luego en Florida, donde murió. Su padre era originario de Hesse-Darmstadt, Alemania, y la familia tenía una tienda de música ('Palacio de la Música') en Terra Haute. Parte de la música de Albert fue publicada en Chicago por su hermana, Louise Küssner, una cantante. Otra hermana, Amalia, era una miniaturista de fama mundial, a quien se le encomendó pintar miniaturas de la familia imperial rusa. Albert parece haber escrito principalmente música ligera.
