Full calfskin, worn corners and extremities, with wear/scratches/chipping overall to boards; Front and rear boards are weak but 'just' attached. VOL. IV only. Gilt spine title still bright, but crown and foot of spine leather is chipped. A previous owners name and date on blank front free end-papers, 1861 and 1863, in 'Copperplate script'. On second blank front free end-paper is another inked name in 'Copperplate script'. No other writing. Overall light to moderate foxing throughout. An eight (8) page Chronological Table 'From Dacier and Other Writers', plus a two (2) page 'Weights, Measures and Denominations of Money, mentioned by Plutrach is included. This volume also contains a very large Index for the complete four volume set, at rear. Fabulous reference material for any student of Greek and/or Roman history. Brothers Langhorne made their joint translation of Plutarch's Lives, which was originally published in 1770.
