About this Item: Grant Richards, London, 1903. Hard Cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Previous owner's name and date (2/7/04) on front end paper and small amounts of foxing. No other marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to spine. A clean very tight copy with slightly marked green cloth boards, slight sunning to spine, dusty page edges and rubbing to spine ends. Very scarce first edition. 372pp. The articles in this volume all belong to the period 1888-1903 of Leo Tolstoy's career and they deal with religion and moral duty. The letters have the special merit of showing Tolstoy's opinions in application to certain people and to certain definite conditions and there are many footnotes which the translator gained from direct communication with Tolstoy. We do not use stock photos, the picture displayed is of the actual book for sale. Every one of our books is in stock in the UK ready for immediate delivery. Size: 6.25 x 4 inches.
