Bound in gray tweed cloth with spine titles stamped in red. First edition (stated), with corresponding 1956 dates to the title and copyright pages. Inscribed and signed to Elizabeth Pesek RN by Leonard Hawkins on the front free endpaper, otherwise unmarked. Pesek was Snite's nurse and is mentioned several times in the book. The cloth shows just a hint of edgewear; there is a 2" sticker removal to the front pastedown that has left a light scuff. Hinges solid; binding square. The dust wrapper has light wear at the extremities, with a 1/4" chip and several short tears at the head of the spine. It is not price-clipped. A clean, tight copy with the jacket now in mylar. She signed this copy over to a Dr. Steffans, who had rendered professional services to her at some point. This inscription is dated May 16, 1956. The book is otherwise unmarked. The cloth shows a touch of edgewear with a bump at the heel of the spine. Hinges solid; slight shelf slant. The dust wrapper has heavy edgewear with 1/4" to 1/2" chips at the head and heel of the spine. It is not price-clipped. A clean, tight copy with the jacket now in mylar.
