Oversized Hardcover. Condition: Good. David Leventhal is a photographer who plays with toys, especially figurines, i.e., soldiers, dolls, cowboys & Indians, etc., putting them into frames of reference via photographing them, in order to question the very nature of representation. In making images that draw from our (largely television) culture of pictures, objects, myths, & symbols, Leventhal's postmodern aesthetic contests so much of what is seen. Includes works from the series Hitler Moves East, The Wild West, American Beauties, Dewsire, Modern Romance, Blackface, Desire, and Mein Kampf. Artist's biography, selected bibliography. Color illus. 216.

F. sehr guter Zustand, geringe Gebrauchs- und Alterungsspuren: Einband leicht beschabt - Einbandränder teils mit kleinen Druckstellen - Seiten sauber und ordentlich Essays and interview by Charles Stainback and Richard B. Woodward "David Levinthal (geboren 8. In ?Wild West? In ?Mein Kampf? (2008)."
